Former England manager, Sven-Goran Eriksson has revealed that his dream was to manage Liverpool one day but that dream is most likely never going to happen.

“In the past, it was always a dream to manage Liverpool,” Eriksoon told Colin Murray on talkSPORT. “But that will not happen.

“I’ve always been a Liverpool fan. My father was a Liverpool fan so it’s in the family. Liverpool have been doing rather well this season, better than for many years, and I hope they can compete this year in the Premier League because they haven’t done that for a long time.”

There was a time in the summer of 2010 when Rafa Benitez had left Liverpool when Eriksson’s name was being thrown around as a potential Liverpool manager but the Reds opted to name Roy Hodgson as the manager.

Hodgson at Liverpool did not work out too well as he was quickly replaced by Kenny Dalglish after 6 months. One can only wonder what could have been if Eriksson had taken over from Rafa in the summer of 2010.
