King Kenny Dalglish is set to return to the dugout but this time in India. IBN Live is reporting that Dalglish will be one of the managers of the eight teams set to play in the new Indian Super League which kicks off in January 2014.

The Indian Super League will be a competition which will run for three months and will feature international stars and local Indian players; something very similar to the IPL for cricket that has been running in India over the last few years.

Dalglish has been identified as a ‘marque’ manager and will be joined by former Manchester United goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel and France international Marcel Desailly as the other managers.

It will be interesting to see how the Indian Super League will work and how well it will be received by fans across the world. Hopefully this competition will unearth some great Indian talent and Dalglish will have a first hand look at them and maybe send one or two across to Brendan Rodgers to have a look at. Liverpool’s popularity is set to grow in India with the new academy the club is opening in 2014 in Pune. We will certainly be keeping a close eye on King Kenny and the team he will be managing.
