Glen Johnson grabbed the winner on Sunday against Chelsea with a brilliant solo goal. Before the match, a lot of talk was about ex-Liverpool players Torres and Meireles possibly getting a goal against their old team but not many bet on ex-Chelsea player Glen Johnson popping up with the winner.

The goal shocked quite a lot of people as Johnson has not been in amongst the goals during his time at Liverpool but now that he has gotten over his injury hell, he is playing some pretty decent football.

Kenny Dalglish was shocked to see Johnson so far forward at that stage of the game as there were only three minutes left on the clock. The boss said, “It’s not bad when your right full-back does it – and it gives you an indication of the commitment and what the players were hoping to get out of the game. We’re happy with how we’ve played and delighted with the three points.

“It was a great finish by Glen. I don’t know what he was doing in there but it was a great finish!

“We deserved to win.”

Isnt Johnsons last minute goal last night an indication that he should be playing as a RM ?? he was shocking in defence all night (as usual) so why not have Kelly as RB and Johnson in front of him ???!!!

He was not shocking in Defense. Johnson was brilliant . Enrique had a lapse, Skrtl looked a bit shaky, but to say Johnson’s defense was shocking is based on his perceived reputation. Since Dalglish’s charge, Johnson has been fantastic. He is now going to get a run of games and hopefully we will see some more goals. Kelly is a capable back-up, but he is not our future RB. Kelly is our future CH as he proved in U-21’s. I think Robinson and Flanno will be fighting for the RB position in a few years time and both will only be 22 yrs old. However, I am open to seeing GJ at the RM position. It would be interesting to experiment at that position next pre-season.

Agree, we should try him at Right Midfield like Bale at spurse. What have we got to lose? Play him there Kenny! YNWA.

  3. Zaid says:

I agree he never had a good game In defence with chelsea kept on attacking our right side Kelly defence is better and having Johnson on the RM would be awesome

Think Kenny was having a dig at the Chelsea defense

  7. Chessie says:

Finaly!! i had this thought for quite a while to move Johnson to an Advance right position he got the skills to cause trouble down that right and we will be more solid defensively.

I think kuyt covered him so no problem
I think too that we should plya with Enrique Agger Kelly and Johnson
Once Enrique joins the attack once its johnson if they are covered by someone
We have to be more sharp in attack
some people criticize our defenders but don’t forget we have the best in EPl with Newcastle and City so our problem is in attack
