Liverpool got a morale boosting victory at home to Wolves at the weekend, and for me there were an equal amount of positives and negatives from the display. It is not surprising considering the Reds are still a work in progress but I am hopeful we will see improved performances from the Reds in the coming weeks, especially with the return of Steven Gerrard to the side.

Positives

1) Carroll and Suarez partnership – We saw the first signs against Wolves that the partnership was beginning to gel, in no small part due to Carroll’s improved performance. Andy is still playing a lot deeper than I would like and he needs to get into the box a lot more often to allow more crosses to be put in from wide areas so he can get on the end of them, like he did with his header that hit the post. Still he was full of running against Wolves, made a great cross which Suarez nearly connected with, and the Uruguayan is even anticipating Carroll’s flick ons a lot more which is promising. For my liking though, they are still playing a bit too far apart, and a lot of the good stuff from the pairing came from individual skill rather than linking up with each other.

2) Return of Steven Gerrard – The Liverpool captain made another cameo against Wolves, building up his fitness, and hopefully he will be ready to start a match soon. To see him linking up with Luis Suarez will be very exciting and hopefully the two will start to play on the same wavelength in the same way that Fernando Torres and Gerrard did. It will also be intriguing to see who he replaces in the side though, Adam or Henderson?

    rosa (Liverpool)
ref. m. atkinson will have a decisive, negative influence on liverpool`s match on saturday. like h. webb he interpretes the rules correctly but HARSHLY against liverpool – which has cost the club fx. fa-cup and euro league……… they are both 100% anti-liverpool – m. atkinson fx. gives lfc early yellow cards to destroy their game.

we further learned that after a full pre-season and six games that Charlie Adam should have been loaned to Blackpool so that he can prove he belongs in the premiership, and jordan henderson should be used as back up to gerrard and shelvey in the center of midfield, because it is equally clear that henderson is a passenger on the right wing and a distant fourth choice as starter there.

    • i think charlie adam is just a squad player 1 he cant deliver a good corner 2 cant tackle 3 he always huffing and puffing 4 welcome back stevie g . as for jordan henderson i dont know why we play him on the right ? but i believe he will b a replacement 4 stevie g in the near future good 2 c jonjo 2 go out on loan he is goin 2 b a top player along side jordan henderson in midfield in a few years . i would prefer maxi on the right or even bellas .but it was also good 2 c caroll score so lets hope there is more 2 come from the big lad
