The transfer dealings seem to nearly be finished at least for the incoming. Now the rumours are picking up speed on departures.

Not long after getting praise from Mr. Henry it is being suggested Aqualani may be going to Fiorentina, on loan or permanently is not clear yet. Ngog is attracting interested from other Premier League teams. Even Poulsen is the subject of speculation. We paid £4.5 million for our short term replacement for Mascherano and now it sounds like on top of his wages we are going to take another hit of about £3million. Jovanovic is probably heading to Anderlecht. Nothing like going where your missus wants you to go to earn the money she spends, eh?

Stevie G still has a large part to play in the squad once he is fully fit. Our midfield is taking shape assuming some of the speculation is reality. Lucas will also be in the mix. Talk of Meireles leaving has cooled in the last week or so and I for one hope he stays.

Did Hull open up your eyes to our defensive frailties or do we look at pre-season as the time the team try and reach full fitness before the serious games begin?

With Kenny in charge complacency shouldn’t be an issue and if it does become one it won’t be for long. We know that consistent performances can be constant and if Suarez returns from the Copa America full of energy and fire like he has shown we should get a good start and be up the top at the end of the season.

Realistically I would like to think we can get a top four spot but if the idea of some young hungry home grown players helps maybe we will push last year’s top 2 to the very end.

Whatever happens at Arsenal I don’t believe they’ve strengthened and may be weakened in the next week or two. If AVB (as they call him) can’t get the best out of Torres they could even be in danger of dropping to 3rd or 4th.

So far the owners have been true to their word in relation to investment. Soon we should have some more news on the stadium and if the scouting was done correctly based on statistics the dream could soon become reality.
