Liverpool hit six goals today (Saturday) against the Malaysia XI. It was a nine goal thriller which Liverpool always looked like winning from the moment Charlie Adam scored the first goal for Liverpool from the penalty spot. After the match, Adam thanked Andy Carroll for letting him take the penalty as Carroll was meant to take it.
The Malaysia XI equalised with a great free-kick from Safiq Rahim that curled into Brad Jones’ top corner. Liverpool made it two after 68 minutes with a goal from David Ngog. Just two minutes later David Ngog struck again with Liverpools third, the striker hit a great shot following an assist from Aquilani.
Maxi then made it four in the 75th minute following a cross from Insua. Safee Sali pulled one back for the hosts and then it was drama as Sali scored again three minutes later to make it 4-3.
In the first minute of injury time, Liverpool ended the contest with another Maxi goal and then Kuyt rounded it off for the six.
It was great entertainment and at the end of the day, it was nice to see the players get a decent run out as they work on their fitness.
