Whilst most of the Liverpool first team players were going through their paces at the first day of training yesterday (Monday), Luis Suarez was on the other side of the world playing for his country Uruguay and helping them get a 1-1 draw against Peru in their opening Copa America game.
Suarez netted the equaliser for Uruguay with a fine finish after he was played through on goal by Nicolas Lodeiro.
And in typical Suarez fashion, he was not happy that his team did not win even though he scored. “Being a forward, it’s nice to score, but it’s not satisfying to give everything and not win,” Suarez said after the game.
“We don’t look for excuses. We had some chances. Perhaps they were more clear in the second half, but we don’t have to look for excuses.”
We hope that Suarez continue to do well for his country and hopefully he does not pick up an injury and he comes back fit for the start of the Liverpool season.
