Caught Offside is reporting today that Liverpool are keeping a close eye on Chelsea striker Daniel Sturridge. Liverpool are in the market for another striker after missing out on signing Wickham who joined Sunderland. A young striker with Premier League experience (which Wickham did not have) would be a great addition to the Liverpool side and Daniel Sturridge fits the bill perfectly.

Sturridge spent last season on loan at Bolton and was fantastic. He managed to score eights goals in eleven starts. Chelsea would find it hard to keep Sturridge as he will not get much game time at Chelsea this coming season as they have the likes of Drogba, Torres and Anelka upfront. And who knows what new striker signings their new boss Andre Villas-Boas could make.

For the sake of Sturridge’s own career, he needs to be playing regular first team football. He may not be a regular starter at Liverpool if he does come but he would certainly get more opportunities than he would at Chelsea.

Do you think Daniel Sturridge would be a good addition to Liverpool if Chelsea are actually willing to sell him to a Premier League rival?
