I think you’ll find since Liverpool had put a value of £7m on Ngog, who’s part of this transfer deal going in the other direction, we’ve actually got Henderson for £13m
N’Gog moving the other direction isnt a part of the deal but if he does agree terms with Sunderland then his fee will be deducted from what we have to pay for Henderson or any other player we may or may not sign from them this summer .
If Henderson was a less talented 20 year old Mexican or Italian with 100 games in English football under his belt we would probably be talking about £40 million after all the hype about him had settled , so anything under that is a bargain & we got him for only £20 million as things stand right now at this moment in time . I would have paid £30 million for him in todays market , no questions asked .
He is a great signing that will instantly be challenging for a regular first role on the right hand side of our midfield & giving us strong options through the middle if Gerrard isnt available .
If Sneijder is sold for 30mil we will once again look clueless in the transfer marker. We should be chasing the Sneijders and the Agueros of the world.. not a guy who was not even the top player at a bottom table club…35mil for Carroll and now 20mil for this guy! 55mil for a first 11 striker and midfielder with 14 goals between them last year.. thats just dumb business… Buying british will keep us mid table… I really hope our next signing is better than this.
I can understand the arguement of buying english players…but the names liverpool is chasing are simply average.I am definetly not looking forward to the new season if this buy is a sign of what’s to come. I’m so disappointed. But I will gladly hold my hand up if proven wrong. YNWA

Henderson was 1 year into a 5 year contract at Sunderland meaning we had to compensate them for 4 years service of one of their top players !

King Kenny knows what he is doing, Not many managers can claim to have won a League cup as player/manager….
We can’t forget Steve Clarke either he has been a great help to us.
True that not many players who have won the league have gone on to win it as a manager & its true that less again have managed to win it as a Player/Manager like he did on 3 occasions while at Liverpool but none have won it as a Player/Manager at one club then gone to another club & won it for them too .
Only 3 managers in the entire history of the game have won the English League for two clubs .
