The transfer saga of Alberto Aquilani continues on as we are still not yet clear as to whether Juventus will sign Aquilani or a permanent basis or he will return to Liverpool next season. Aquilani’s agent insisted he believes a deal will still be done in the coming days.
“The percentage that Aquilani will remain at Juventus is above 50 percent,” Franco Zavaglia told Gazzetta dello Sport.
“He has three years left on his contract with Liverpool. I believe that in a couple of days the two clubs will reach an agreement.”
So hopefully next week (or earlier) we will know where Aquilani will be. But if one looks at the fact that Juventus have now signed Andrea Pirlo from AC Milan, that could just be a sign than Juventus are not going to sign Aquilani now that they have Pirlo.
The main stumbling block about this Aquilani deal seems to lie in the fact that Juventus do not have the money to pay Liverpool the agreed fee of £16million as Juventus have failed to qualify for European football next season. With that in mind, I do not believe that Juventus are going to reach an agreement with Liverpool as we will not lower our asking price.
