There were not too many great games to remember this season for Liverpool when Roy Hodgson was still in-charge. Hodgson’s best moment as Liverpool manager must have been the 2-0 home win over Chelsea. So it is no surprise that the 5 top games we have selected come from the Kenny Dalglish era.

Liverpool 3 – Manchester United 1

This game will be remembered by many fans and it will be no surprise if this is the one voted the game of the season by the fans. Firstly, it was against the old enemy and any victory over them is always sweet but the way Liverpool played that day to totally outclass United in all departments was a pleasure to watch.

Dirk Kuyt may have scored all three goals for Liverpool that game but we will never forget Luis Suarez’s man of the match performance. Carragher’s tackle on Nani was also an incident that sticks out in this game. And to top it off, this match was played just after Kenny Dalglish’s 60th birthday and the whole of Anfield broke out to sing Happy Birthday to the King.

Continue to next game (Fulham 2 – Liverpool 5)

Personally I thought that the 3-0 victory over Manchester City deserves a mention. It was an absolutely dominant display and was a better performance, both in attack and defense, than our home win against Birmingham or our draw at The Emirates and against a better side.
