Could Steve Warnock be making a sensational move back to Liverpool? That could be the case according to reports in the press today. The Aston Villa left back is out of favour at Villa Park and there is the possibility he could return to Liverpool on loan for the rest of the season.
Liverpool have problems at left back which need to be addressed as Glen Johnson can not play there for the rest of the season. I had hoped that Liverpool would spend some cash and go out and buy a world class left back such as Benfica’s Fabio Coentrao. The speculation around Coentrao moving to Liverpool has cooled down now and maybe that is why Liverpool are making a move for Warnock.
Now Warnock is not the best left back out there and what worries me is that he if Aston Villa are willing to let him go, he is not currently good enough for the Villa team and we all know how poorly that team is doing now. On the upside though, Warnock knows Liverpool having played there before so he would have no problem settling in. He is a left back and we desperately need one right now.
