As many of us are still seething at England for Gerrard’s injury, there may be a silver lining at the end of this if the forces that be at Liverpool decide to go ahead and ask the FA to pay Gerrard’s wages of £120,000 a week through their insurers while he is sidelined. Gerrard is set to miss critical games against West Ham, Tottenham, Aston Villa and Newcastle in the league and games against Steaua Bucharest and FC Utrecht in the Europa League.

I say that Liverpool should go ahead with this demand and get the money from the FA and this should be the norm when players get injured playing for their countries during International Friendlies.
