Following on from Liverpool’s 0-0 draw in Napoli last night, Roy Hodgson has come out and said that he will not quit his job at Liverpool. Before last nights game, a lot of people had thought that Roy will quit his job after the game and thus pave the way for Frank Rijkaard to take over. But there is not chance in Roy quitting, according to him.

“I’ve heard the ridiculous rumours and can tell you there is not one iota of truth in them. If you want the simple answer, it’s I’ve never considered resigning and I never will.”

So why will Hodgson not quit? Well, imagine how his reputation as a coach will look like after quitting when the chips are down at such a big club like Liverpool. he just has to stick it out for the sake of his CV and not have “I sunk Liverpool” on his CV. Maybe if he gets Liverpool back into a winning run then he may quit but I can not see him quitting now when the team is on a downward spiral.

If he quits now, then where will he go? I do not think there would be too many teams queuing up to sign him if he quits now.

Not knowing the exact conditions of his contract but if he were to quit and not get sacked then he would probably walk away without a cent from his contract. That would be a really bad pay day for him.

I feel Roy still has a lot he wants to prove at Liverpool. This is arguably the biggest job of his career and he wants to make the most of it. Results have not gone his way so far this term but I believe he wants to turn it around. If he is able to do so, that is another question.

Do you think Roy Hodgson should quit?
