Another 2 points dropped and with that we may have just dropped any hope of winning the title. We are now 7 points behind United and it is going to be really tough to claw back. All it simply means is that we have to win every single game left to play, including going to Old Trafford and winning and hoping at the same time that United slip up along the way. It is not mission impossible but it will be tough and will require a lot of luck.

Football - Liverpool v Manchester City Barclays Premier League

Looking back at the game on Sunday, I was largely disappointed with the way we played. Having Lucas and Mascherano starting in midfield was just not on. Sure Alonso was suspended and Stevie G was injured and that meant we lacked any form of creativity from the middle. Lucas and Mascharano are two very similar players and hardly go forward. I would rather have seen Aurelio starting in the middle of the park after he played there against Pompey.

When Bellamy got the goal for City at the start of the second half I really started to get worried as i wondered where the goals were going to come from us. Torres looked bright in patches but never really threatened much. Up until Kuyt got the equaliser when never really looked like scoring. Once it was 1-1 with 10 minutes to go, there was really only one team in it..us! We could easily have won it if Given had not pulled of some tremendous saves but truth be told, we should not be relying on last minute goals.

At this moment in time I am dejected. We were in a brilliant position earlier on in the season to win the league but not it looks like we have to settle for second place and that pisses me off! We are Liverpool and should not be settling for second best!!

A dissapointing run of the mill performance ! May aswell have had ten men on the pitch as lucas doesnt seem to count for anything these days …. I would have liked to have seen a 4-4-2 attack minded set up but it wasnt gonna happen.
We seeem to be the masters of our own downfall now ….I was gutted ! least of all cos I’d just driven 4 hours from Skegness to see the game and then 3 hours straight back after !!! Its out of our hands now i think and its is United’s to lose !!
