We finally saw Robbie Keane get his first Premiership goals for Liverpool this weekend against West Brom. It was never a question of if Robbie was going to get his first Premiership goals but just a matter of when. Going into the game on the weekend, I also had the same mentality that it was no matter of if we were going to beat West Brom but more like by how much. 3-0 may sound good but I wished it was more.

As Rafa said after the game that Robbie had ‘taken the monkey off his back’. What made me happy is that they were no simple, tap in goals but very well taken goals by Robbie. Goals you would expect a striker in form to convert but Robbie just showed us that extra class that he has. Many have questioned the signing of Robbie and if he really is going to add value to Liverpool’s title push. I remember even Sir Alex was saying that paying 20 million pounds for Keane was a joke.

I never doubted the signing of Keane as I felt he is just what we needed to compliment, not replace, Torres. Maybe 20 million was a bit too much but with some of the prices flying around for players these days, 20 million may prove to be a steal if we go on to win the title. Now we just hope that Robbie can build from his two goals and continue to score constantly for us.
