Australian winger Harry Kewell has agreed a three-year deal with Turkish side Galatasaray after he was not offered a new contract by Liverpool. This brings to an end Kewell’s injury hit five year spell at Anfield. I am a bit sad that he has finally left. Kewell did not set the scene alight at Anfield when he came. I had such high hopes for him and the fact that he was given the famous number 7 jursey meant that I expected him to be an idol. The way he played for Leeds was breathtaking and I hoped he would do the same for us but I was wrong. He had some flashes of brilliance at Anfield but it was just not good enough.
Good luck in Turkey Harry. It is a pitty you did not deliver to us what we had hoped for. Now the number 7 jursey is available again and I hope someone worthy of wearing it gets it.
