I was reading this morning that Rafa could be turning his attention to Spanish winger David Silva as a possible solution to our winger crisis. I must say, I am happy that Rafa is now focusing on a world class winger like Silva rather than trying to purchase James Milner from Newcastle.
Silva has shown his worth during Euro 2008 and I have been very impressed with his performances. I feel we have the upper hand all the time if we are trying to sign Spanish players as they are more than happy to come to Liverpool. It is suggested that Silva may cost around £15m which I feel would be money well spent. Obviously the dream signing for the summer would be another David; David Villa but if we can not get Villa then I would be happy with Silva. Getting both would just be a dream come true. Can you imagine a team with Torres, Villa, Silva, Gerrard, Mascherano, Babel, Barry and Carragher? If that is not a championship winning team then I don’t know what is.
Let’s hope that we can sign David Silva, that would be a great signing.
