Just as it looked like we had finally found a solution for our left back position in the form of young Argentine, Emiliano Insua, we will be without the services of him for a month as he has been called up to represent Argentina in the Under-20 South American Championships. This comes as a huge loss to us as I have really enjoyed seeing Insua play in the last couple of games he has been called up to. With Aurelio out injured, I was never happy to have Dossena fill in at left back but Rafa gave Insua a chance and the young man took it with both hands and has not looked out of place in the first team.

Young Argentinian full-back, Emiliano Insua has signed a new three year deal with Liverpool. This comes as good news as I feel Insua is a very talented player and definitely one for the future. He is only 19 years old but you can already see the potential. I was highly impressed seeing him play for the reserves last season and he then came on to play in the first team at the end of the season and he really did not look out of place. With Dossena signing for us as a left-back and Riise having left, I think Insua could be pushing for a first team place at left-back as time goes on. I think another season for him in the reserves would be great or maybe even send him out on loan so he can get regular first team football. I am sure Insua is seeing the success fellow Argentine, Mascherano is having at Anfield and he would like to replicate that success.
