Barcelona have joined the battle for Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette, according to French newspaper L’Equipe. The 24 year old has been linked with a move to Liverpool, Tottenham, Atletico Madrid and West Ham in recent weeks.

Barca had been considering a move for Sevilla’s French striker Kevin Gameiro, reports L’Equipe. but they have now turned their attention to the French international, with contact already being made with his representatives about a possible move.

Although it would be hard opportunity for the striker to turn down, he would be reserve for the famed front three of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar, and he will have to consider whether he wants to play second fiddle at this stage of his career.

Lacazette has scored 20 goals in 40 appearances in all competitions this season and has helped the French club to second in the table with 59 points from 35 games played. They are however, way off champions Paris Saint-Germain who are a staggering 27 points ahead at the top.
