Marseille need to sell striker Michy Batshuayi in order to clear their debts and fund their transfer activity in the summer, according to Buzzsport in France.

The Belgian international has been linked with Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur in recent weeks with Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino even saying to radio station RMC (reported by Sky Sports) that they were watching the 22 year old and that many other clubs were interested him as well:

“Michy’s a young player who has a lot of talent. He is on the list of many clubs. We have quite a few people who have given us information about him. He has good potential. We’ll see. We have other players in our sights too.”

Buzzsport believe that Batshuayi would cost as much as €40million. He has been in excellent form for Marseille this season with 20 goals and 9 assists in 47 matches in all competitions this campaign. The player’s form has been in stark contrast to his team who haven’t won in the league since they beat Montpellier 1-0 on February 2nd, and have recently sacked their manager Michel. They now find themselves 16th with 41 points from 35 games.
