Manchester City are huge favourites to sign Raheem Sterling and will bid £45m for the England international when the transfer window opens in the summer.

Sterling’s future at the Merseyside club has burdened them for the most part of the season, with the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Arsenal and Manchester City all linked with a cut-price summer move.

The Reds have been keen to agree a new improved and extended deal with the England international but talks have faltered after beginning around the turn of the year.

And, now, according to sources from Sky Sports – the winger is ready to call time on his Anfield future, sparking a transfer tussle between those aforementioned clubs and Germans side Bayern Munich.

Man City officials are said to be leading the way with a £40m bid expected to be submitted in the coming weeks, however, reports now claim that they will push that to £45m should it be rejected.

Sterling is said to be keen on a move outside of England after suffering weeks of negative press about his contract situation at Anfield, although a big money move across the country to City could tempt him.

I would like Sterling to stay but if he doesn’t want to stay I’d cash in on him now. If he stays another 12 months his value will plummet by more than his wage difference, and following the comments by his agent he won’t be penning a new contract.

£45m and we move on sounds great to me.

I’m sure all us Liverpool fans would hate to see Sterlings Agent make a decent buck but Sterling obviously wants to go and £45 mill would be a very good amount the only problem is I don’t trust Rodgers and co to bring in good enough signings with the cash .
