Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke is prepared to force through his move to Liverpool this summer, according to reports.

Villa will be hoping to keep hold of the 24-year-old, and have attempted to fend off interest by placing the huge price tag on the striker.

But that has not stopped the likes of Liverpool in keeping their interest in the Belgian goalscorer.

The Reds are looking to add a proven goalscorer to their side this season after the sale of Luis Suarez to Barcelona last summer and the injury problems to England international Daniel Sturridge.

And, following reports in English press on Tuesday morning, the Reds could be in pole position to sign the Belgian after he told close friends that he wants to move to Anfield.

Brendan Rodgers is prepared to offer the striker a deal worth £100,000-per-week to move to Merseyside.

It has been a hit and miss season for Benteke at Villa due to injuries but his return has seen them reach the FA Cup final where they will meet Arsenal.

Don’t believe a word, his agent has said he will speak to Villa after cup final if we win were in Europe same as you. He is considering staying and has 2 years left, he will only go to the champs leaguE if any where, plus he may stay where he’s happy and guaranteed 1st team as the Euros coming and needs to make sure he’s in the Belgium squad. These rumours will run all summer don’t get your hopes up too soon, with new owners at the Villa this summer we may be competing for the same players UTV
