For all the problems Liverpool’s strikers have endured this season, there is one Reds striker who can boast a better goals to minutes ratio than Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Neymar.

The only problem is, all of those goals have come from Iago Aspas of all people – currently on loan at La Liga side Sevilla.

The 27-year-old boasts an impressive record of 10 goals in 19 appearances, and averages a goal every 71 minutes.

In comparison to current Ballon’dor holder Ronaldo, who manages a goal every 72 minutes, whilst Lionel Messi averages a goal every 82 minutes.

Brazilian star Neymar has impressed with 22 goals this season, but is still behind Aspas with a goal every 87 minutes.

In fact – wait for it – Aspas has the best goals to minutes ratio of anyone in the major leagues in Europe.

True, six of them came in a two legged cup tie against a Spanish second division side – but in fairness he has carried that form into La Liga with goals in consecutive games against Espanyol and Real Madrid – whilst he has more goals this season than Mario Balotelli, Fabio Borini and Rickie Lambert put together.

Oh the irony..
