Liverpool striker Rickie Lambert will not be leaving the club on deadline day, despite interest in his signature from Hull City, reports the Liverpool Echo.

The 32-year-old only signed for his boyhood club in the summer for £4million, but has struggled for regular first team football, and has just three goals to his name in all competitions.

Lambert has been restricted to 10 starts and 14 substitute appearances this season, but Brendan Rodgers has no desire to let the striker leave on loan – despite the return to fitness of Daniel Sturridge.

Crystal Palace were linked with the England international earlier in the month, but Lambert was keen to stress he wanted to stay and help the club in any way he could whilst he was still wanted.

“I’ve no intention of leaving Liverpool while they want me. If they don’t want me I’ll go but I’m here to help in whatever way I can,” Lambert said.
