Liverpool may make a late bid for Paris St Germain forward Ezequiel Lavezzi, after Napoli pulled out of the race to sign him, reports talkSPORT.

Liverpool have been consistently linked with a move for teh 29-year-old, who is out of favour in the French capital.

Reports have suggested Lavezzi is available for a cut price £8million this month, although he was said to favour a return to Italy.

That opened the door for Napoli, however the Italians have ruled themselves out of a move this month.

“Though we love the player and his qualities, we are well stocked in the attacking department, both in terms of quantity and quality,” sporting director Ricardo Bigon told Sky Italia.??”Lavezzi is not a necessity for us.”
