Chelsea striker Diego Costa has been given a three match ban by the FA for stamping on Liverpool’s Emre Can during Tuesday night’s Capital One Cup semi final at Stamford Bridge.

The 26-year-old will miss Saturday’s Premier League clash with Manchester City at Stamford Bridge as well as games against Aston Villa and Everton.

The incident which occurred in the 12th minute, was not seen by match officials but was caught on video.

Liverpool went on to lose the game 1-0 in extra time, whilst Costa was also caught up in another stamping controversy with defender Martin Skrtel, whilst later being booked for a clash with captain Steven Gerrard.

If that had been a Liverpool player he would have got a 4 match ban especially as he appealed against the charge. Suarez would have got at least a 6 match ban.

Liverpool too patient, costa should have been handed 6 match ban. But well, thank you FIFA for not pampering costa. He is indeed the reincarnated Luis suarez.
