Raheem Sterling’s contract talks with Liverpool are expected to be completed ‘imminently’ according to Brendan Rodgers.

The 20-year-old has been in negotiations over a new deal for some time now, and has previously been linked with Real Madrid and Paris St Germain.

Brendan Rodgers has always maintained the forward will sign a new deal at Anfield however, and expects an announcement to be made shortly.

“It is something the club are speaking with his representatives on and I would think that would be concluded imminently,” he said.

“The player is very happy. It (the delay) is nothing to do with Raheem, he wants to be here so hopefully we get the solution on that very soon.”
