The agent of Fabio Borini insists the striker is ‘happy’ at Liverpool and will not be leaving the club this January.

Borini has been heavily linked with a move away from Anfield, and came close to joining both QPR and Sunderland in the summer.

He has managed 13 appearances for the Reds this term, and is still yet to score a goal.

With Daniel Sturridge back in training and reports suggesting Divock Origi will be moving to the club before the close of the transfer window, Borini has once again been linked with a move away.

His agent Marco De Marchi, who also represents Werder Bremen defender Luca Caldirola, said: “Borini and Caldirola will not return to Italy in January.

“I’m happy with Liverpool and Werder Bremen – the teams where they now play.”

Borini has a record of just two goals in 33 appearances for Liverpool, since joining from Roma for £10million in the summer of 2012.

He spent last season on loan at Sunderland, where he fired 10 goals in all competitions and was voted the club’s young player of the season.
