West Brom striker Saido Berahino is stalling on the offer of a new contract in the hope of forcing through a £20million move to Liverpool, according to the Daily Mirror.

The Baggies striker has also caught the attention of Tottenham after firing 13 goals in 24 appearances this season – however reports suggest the England Under-21 star would prefer a move to Anfield.

West Brom are ready to triple the strikers wages and make him the highest paid player in the club’s history in the process.

But Berahino has shown a reluctance to sign the deal, in the hope Brendan Rodgers will make an offer for him before the close of the January transfer window.

Berahino also frustrated supporters by refusing to celebrate any of his four goals against Gateshead in the FA Cup last week, whilst newly appointed West Brom boss Tony Pulis has said the striker can leave for the right price.

It now remains to be seen as to whether Fenway Sports group will fund the move, with the summer signings of Rickie Lambert and Mario Balotelli for a combined total of £20million so far failing to deliver.

Not what Liverpool need they need 4 world class players

He’s a good player with a lot or potential but not what we need at the moment. Also with his experience his value is no more than £10m.

If we did go for him we would need to get another very experienced striker in and lose Borini, Ballotelli and Lambert.
