Crystal Palace are keen to end Rickie Lambert’s Liverpool nightmare, according to widespread reports.

The Eagles are looking to add some new faces this winter as they look to avoid relegation, and newly appointed manager Alan Pardew has identified Lambert as a transfer target.

The 32-year-old only moved to Anfield in the summer, joining his boyhood club in a £4million move from Southampton.

It has not been the dream move Lambert had hoped for however, with the forward having managed just two goals this season and only five Premier League starts.

Liverpool have Daniel Sturridge returning from injury soon, whilst reports suggest the club are keen to sign a new striker this month.

Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema and West Brom’s Saido Berahino are the latest names to be linked, whilst Divock Origi may also see his loan spell at Lille cut short as the Reds look to strengthen their attack.

That may see Lambert made surplus to requirments, having already fallen behind Raheem Sterling in the pecking order in the battle for the the central strikers position.
