Rafael Benitez has revealed he turned down the opportunity to leave Napoli, revealing he has been offered two jobs in recent weeks.

The Spaniard has been linked with a return to Liverpool following the Reds dismal start to the season under Brendan Rodgers.

Benitez did not reveal which jobs he had been offered, but insisted he remains happy to stay with the Serie A giants – despite the fact his contract is expiring at the end of the season.

He told reporters in Spain: “In the past fortnight we have rejected two offers, my commitment is here. I want to work to give 100 per cent with this team.”

Speculation surrounding the futures of both Rodgers and Benitez continues however.

A 2-0 defeat to AC Milan at the weekend saw Napoli slip to seventh in Serie A, with reports suggesting relations between the 54-year-old and the club are at an all time low.

Rodgers meanwhile has endured a wretched few weeks, with some reports suggesting owner John W.Henry was talked out of letting him go by former Liverpool players.

The Reds currently sit 11th in the Premier League and have exited the Champions League at the group stage, although a win at Championship leaders Bournemouth has set up a League cup semi final with Chelsea in the new year.
