Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva is set to leave the club in January with Napoli a possible destination, according to the players agent.

Lucas has fallen down the Anfield pecking order this season, and has managed just two Premier League starts under Brendan Rodgers.

And the Brazilian’s agent admits a January reunion with former Reds boss Rafael Benitez at Napoli is on the cards.

“Is it possible that Lucas could leave Liverpool in January? Yes, naturally,” said agent Henrique Coelho.

“Lucas likes Rafael Benitez a lot. After all, the two know each other well from when the Spaniard was coaching Liverpool.”
