Daniel Sturridge is set to undergo a scan having suffered a third consecutive injury in training.

Liverpool have been without their star striker for the past 14 matches in all competitions, with fellow strikers Mario Balotelli, Rickie Lambert and Fabio Borini yet to score in the Premier League this season.

Sturridge was expected to make his much anticipated return for Liverpool’s clash with Crystal Palace on Sunday, but is expected to miss the trip to Selhurst Park after straining his thigh in training.

Sturridge has not featured for England since the 3-0 win over Tottenham on August 31. In that time, the Reds have only managed two Premier League victories in his absence.

The 25-year-old is set to undergo a scan at Melwood today to determine how long he will be ruled out of action.
