Liverpool have been dealt a major blow with the news Daniel Sturridge is not set to feature again until the new year.
The striker has been ruled out for up to six weeks, having suffered a thigh injury in training.
This is the third consecutive injury picked up by Sturridge, who has missed the Reds last 14 matches in all competitions.
Liverpool have managed just six victories in that time – two of which have come in the Capital One Cup.
Sturridge is set to miss Liverpool’s final two Champions League group games, and the Christmas period in which the Reds take on Manchester United and Arsenal back-to-back.
