Liverpool could be without Jordan Henderson for Sunday’s trip to Crystal Palace, after the midfielder was left out of England’s friendly with Scotland having complained of having a tight hamstring.

Henderson did not feature in the 1-3 friendly win at Celtic Park, and England boss Roy Hodgson admitted after the game he did not want to use the midfielder as a precaution.

Liverpool have already been rocked by the news that Daniel Sturridge is facing another spell on the sidelines, having suffered yet another thigh injury during training.

The striker has missed the Reds last 14 matches in all competitions.

Hodgson told reporters after the game that Henderson’s injury was ‘very minor’ and he will now be assessed by Liverpool’s medical team ahead of the weekend’s game at Selhurst Park.
