Liverpool target Jackson Martinez has hinted he may be on the verge of leaving Porto, according to the Daily Star.

Liverpool and Arsenal have both been linked with a £30million move for the Colombian striker in January, having watched him fire 11 goals in all competitions already this season.

Reports suggest the Reds are ready to cut their losses on Mario Balotelli, and replace him with the 28-year-old, who has been scoring goals for fun in Portugal over the past few seasons.

And now Martinez has given his biggest hint yet that he could well be on the move in the near future.

He said: “My agent is in charge of the negotiations, I prefer to stay out of it.

“At the end of the season I hope to get some interesting proposals.”

It will be interesting to see if there is any merit in this news article and it is not just journalistic rumor-mongering. It would be great for Liverpool but a real stinging indictment of his lack of quality if Balotelli is ousted and replaced by someone 4 years his senior.
