Spanish playmaker Suso is set to stay at Liverpool despite the speculation linking him with a move to AC Milan, according to the players agent.

The 20-year-old has been given limited opportunities at Anfield this season, and is currently out for a further three weeks with an injury.

He spent last season on loan at Spanish side Almeria, where he scored three goals and provided seven assists.

It is the common opinion of many supporters that Suso should have been given more of an opportunity to show what he can do for the Reds, and the players agent says that may well be a possibility given that Liverpool are keen to extend his contract.

“There is no agreement with Milan,” representative Jaume Serra told Calciomercato.it.

“It is certainly a possibility, but for now, there’s nothing more to say.

“Rather, Liverpool are pushing for his renewal, so we cannot rule even this hypothesis out.

“At the moment, it’s too early to discuss any possibilities.”

Given how poorly we played all season (apart from against Spurs), we’ve had little to celebrate but this is superb news. I haven’t had a chance to attend many games this season but I was at Anfield for the League Cup match against Middlesborough and Suso was something else when he came on with ~15 minutes to go. Not only did he score; be also buried two penalties with confidence.

Rodgers said in the post match interview that his performance put him in contention for the Everton game and in typical Rodgers fashion, Suso started on the bench and was subsequently dropped.

I for one am elated Suso is staying (and I’m not just saying that because I bumped into him at my local Tesco on Mather Avenuw). He should be No. 2 behind Coutinho who can be replaced as he too loses his form from time to time.

This is some news to cheer about finally, I av always believed there are 3 wonder kids in football at the moment one is Couthino the other Isco and the last is Suso and it would break my heart to see him leave cos that would be a replica of “the couthino from inter to liverpool scenario”. The boy exudes confidence and swagger and he’s got the flair and skill to match, it would be a great loss for us and Milan probably laughing at our naivete like we do Inter’s. All said and done its still speculations I just hope we hold the boy down
