Liverpool look all set to sign a new striker in January, as summer signing Mario Balotelli continues to struggle in front of goal.

The Daily Star reckons the Reds are all set up to complete the signing of Ghanian forward Andre Ayew on a free transfer from Marseille.

The 24-year-old is out of contract with the Ligue 1 club in the summer, meaning Rodgers may even attempt to bring him to Anfield for a cut price figure in January.

The Reds have struggled in front of goal so far this season, with 13 to their name in the Premier League so far – of which three have been own goals.

Daniel Sturridge has missed the Reds last eight matches in all competitions, and could yet be out of action for another month.

Meanwhile, £16million summer signing Mario Balotelli is yet to open his Premier League account for the Reds, and produced an early contender for miss of the season in the 3-2 win at QPR, firing the ball over an open goal from six yards.

The little I have seen of Andre Ayew he is very similar to Sterling . These are the type of strikers we need not Lambert types . But the bitters are also keen on him , we shall see .

Just give him a try. I do not see any prospects for Mario (poor attitude) and Daniel (So injury prone). And a club of Liverpool’s’ magnitude cannot afford to depend entirely on Sterling for goals.
