Liverpool’s move for former Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes appears to be in doubt, according to the Daily Mail.

The Spaniard is said to be reluctant to come and train with the club in order to prove his fitness, despite having missed the last six months with a cruciate ligament injury.

Liverpool are keen to sign the 32-year-old to provide competition for Simon Mignolet.

Valdes was set for a move to French moneybags Monaco before his injury struck.

He is considered a legend at Barcelona, having played over 500 matches and won three Champions Leagues and six La Liga titles.

He has since been replaced between the sticks by Chilean Claudio Bravo, who is yet to concede this season.
