Liverpool duo Daniel Sturridge and Mamadou Sakho have not travelled with the squad for tomorrow night’s Champions League clash with FC Basel.

Sturridge has failed to recover from a thigh injury which has kept him out of the side for Liverpool’s last five matches in all competitions.

Brendan Rodgers hopes the 25-year-old may be fit to play some part in the weekend’s clash with West Brom Albion at Anfield, but is likely to keep Mario Balotelli leading the line in the meantime.

Mamadou Sakho is the other notable absentee from the squad, with the £18million defender set to face disciplinary action from Brendan Rodgers, having walked out of Anfield before the Merseyside derby at the weekend after being told he was not a part of the match-day squad.

  1. if sturradge didn’t go to this match who will score our goals for as……. If i am Rodgers i should play Lambert and Balotelli together.

  2. Suso can create something out of nothing just like suarez did. Liverpool need him to provide goals for baloteli to finish of
