Jamie Carragher has taken to Twitter to hit back at former England teammate Rio Ferdinand, after the former Manchester United defender mocked his accent in his recent autobiography, reports the Independent.

Ferdinand has pulled no punches in his new book, criticising former England bosses, former captain John Terry, and former United boss David Moyes.

And Carragher was next in line, when the 35-year-old wrote: “On England duty some of us couldn’t understand Carragher, we was like ‘get a translator man!'”.

But Carragher – who is fast becoming a revelation on Twitter – hit back at his former England colleague.

Champions League winner Carragher mocked Ferdinand’s London accent, saying: “I couldn’t understand him, Bruv, innit and wicked!!!!”
