Liverpool are paying close attention to the situation regarding Edinson Cavani at Paris St Germain, with the Metro amongst those reporting the Uruguayan striker is seeking a move away from the French capital.

Cavani’s agent revealed that both Liverpool and Arsenal attempted to sign the 27-year-old in the summer, only for him to opt to stay at the Parc de Princes.

But reports in France from well-respected paper L’Equipe, claim Cavani will actively seek a move at the end of the season, as he remains unhappy at being played out of position to accommodate star man Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Cavani has scored two goals in the opening six matches of the season, and feels his performances are being hindered by playing wide left in a front three.

Whilst Liverpool and Arsenal both expressed an interest in the summer, it remains to be seen whether that will be rekindled come the end of the season, with both clubs spending £16million on Mario Balotelli and Danny Welbeck respectively.

But were Cavani to become available at the right price, surely it would be too good an opportunity to turn down?
