Liverpool have been tipped to complete the signing of Paris St Germain forward Ezequiel Lavezzi in January, according to the Daily Mirror.

The Reds were linked with a £16million move for the Argentine international during the summer, but the move failed to materialise when PSG missed out on top transfer target Angel Di Maria to Manchester United.

But the 29-year-old remains unhappy with life in the French capital, and is hoping to secure a move away as early as January.

Lavezzi continues to struggle for first team football at the Parc de Princes, and would fit into Liverpool’s system under Brendan Rodgers as he is capable of playing in a number of positions across the front line.

The Reds were quoted a price of £16million for Lavezzi in the summer, but are confident of landing him for considerably less in January.

I am always wary of links to Italy. Liverpool have not exactly struck gold with their previous signings and forays into the Italian market. This guy may have something, but with his age, it does not exactly leave much time for experimentation.

Absolute rubbish article and a waste of space. Already announced he signing a new contract since no takers and they didn’t get Di Maria. So with a new contract purchase will be even higher. Stupid old news making its rounds
