Alberto Moreno looks set to make his Liverpool debut against Manchester City at The Etihad on Monday. The £12million left back has trained with the team this week and it appears Brendan Rodgers will throw him in at the deep end.

Last season’s top two will go head to head after both sealing wins in their opening fixtures, Liverpool beating Southampton and City breezing past Newcastle United. Now the two face each other in an early season heavyweight encounter with a big statement ready to be made by the winner.

Simon Mignolet will continue in goal following his heroics in last weekends game, particularly his point blank save towards the end, pushing a Morgan Schneiderlin effort onto the crossbar. Elsewhere, Moreno seems likely to start at left back and Rodgers will continue the centre back pairing of Dejan Lovren and Martin Skrtel. At right back, despite the fine performances of Javier Manquillo recently, it is suggested that Rodgers will not risk playing two young full back and instead opt for the experienced Glen Johnson.

The midfield looks like it will comprise of Gerrard, Allen and Henderson whilst ahead of that three will be Sterling, Sturridge and Coutinho.

Possible line up versus Manchester City: Mignolet, Moreno, Lovren, Skrtel, Johnson, Gerrard, Allen, Henderson, Sterling, Coutinho, Sturridge

What would you line up for City be? Let us know your thoughts below.
