There are reports doing the rounds this evening that Samuel Eto’o has undergone a medical in Paris. According to The MirrorLiverpool will tie up a deal for the Cameroonian striker should their move for Mario Balotelli fall through.
The £16million move for Italian striker Balotelli though appears at an advanced stage and there has been nothing to suggest the deal will fall apart. Balotelli has been pictured arriving at and leaving Melwood this evening amongst a large crowd of Liverpool fans. The 24 year old completed a medical and the transfer looks set to be announced.
Therefore reports about Eto’o, 33, seem increasingly bizarre as many continue to say that Liverpool will sign only one of the two targeted strikers. Eto’o is a free agent after leaving Chelsea this summer and is keen to remain in England. Anfield is his number one choice despite strong interest from Ajax and also Inter Milan.
