Paris St Germain have told Liverpool they will have to fork out £16million if they want to sign Ezequiel Lavezzi this summer, according to the Express.

Brendan Rodgers is on the hunt for a new forward heading into the new season, and 29-year-old Lavezzi is said to be one of the names on his wishlist.

The Argentine has rejected the offer of a new contract at the Parc de Princes, and Paris St Germain are now looking to offload for the right price.

The French champions have already spent £50million on David Luiz from Chelsea this summer, and were close to signing Angel Di Maria in a £55million deal from Real Madrid.

That would have made Lavezzi surplus to requirements, but having eventually decided against a move for Di Maria, PSG looked to tie the former Napoli man down to a new contract.

But having learnt how dispensable he is, Lavezzi is eager to engineer a move this summer, with the Reds being quoted a figure of £16million to complete the deal, although Juventus are keen on offering the forward a return to Italy.
