Pepe Reina is set to join Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, after Liverpool accepted a £2million offer for his services, reports the Metro.

Reina spent last season on loan at Napoli, and has since returned for pre-season training with the Reds.

But with Brendan Rodgers having made it clear he considers Simon Mignolet the club’s first choice goalkeeper, Reina has been made surplus to requirements at Anfield.

Both Napoli and AC Milan were keen to offer the Spaniard a return to Italy for the new season, but both were put off by his wage demands of £100k a week.

But now it seems Bayern Munich are willing to offer him an escape route, after agreeing a £2million fee with the Reds for the 31-year-old.

Reina is now set to discuss personal terms with Pep Guardiola’s side, before making the switch to Germany to act as understudy to Manuel Neuer.
