Paris St Germain have told Liverpool they can sign Ezequiel Lavezzi for £16million, according to the Express.

However, the same publication claims the Reds are still waiting to receive the full payment of £75million from Barcelona for Luis Suarez, before making an offer.

The Argentine forward is surplus to requirements in the French capital, with Laurent Blanc’s side close to agreeing a deal for Real Madrid winger Angel Di Maria.

They are looking to offload the 29-year-old in order to raise funds, and Brendan Rodgers remains interested in completing a deal, despite the likes of Juventus, Inter and AC Milan offering the forward a return to Italy.

The Reds are willing to pay as much as £18.75million for the former Napoli star, and remain confident of completing a deal, despite reports last week that suggested Lavezzi was keen on returning to Italy this summer.

Liverpool are just waiting to receive an outstanding payment from Barcelona on the Suarez deal before stepping up their negotiations.

Brendan Rodgers has already completed the signings of six players this summer, and is said to be on the verge of adding two more in the form of Spanish full backs Javier Manquillo and Alberto Moreno.

Would you like to see us sign Ezequiel Lavezzi this summer? Or are there better alternatives? Let us know your thoughts below.

Posibly BR is aware how important striker signing would be, try Jackson Martinez, Marco Reus n Ezequel L bring one of these to Reds family then business is done, consider Isco too.

I am very wary of Lavezzi. I cannot shake the feeling that, regardless of his talent and escapades in Italy, he will not fit in with Rodgers system of play or be able to keep up with the pace and physicality of the English game and could quite conceivably be a dramatic flop. Plus, at 29 years old, do we really want to pin our hopes for the new season on someone on the cusp of the twilight of their career?
