Manchester City have been dealt a blow ahead of Sunday’s game against Liverpool as their captain Vincent Kompany went down in training on Saturday following a collision with Micah Richards.

There is no news yet as to the extent of this injury but judging from the pictures coming from City’s training, it looks like their star defender may not make the game on Sunday.

If indeed Kompany is out injured, that would give Liverpool a slight advantage as there is no doubt that Kompany is one of their star players. The Reds will still have a tough game ahead of them even if City are not with Kompany’s services.

The key battle in this game could lie in central midfield where City have Yaya Toure and he will be up against Captain Fantasic Steven Gerrard. You can expect that to be a key showdown with whoever coming out on tops in that battle being in a position to lead their team to victory.
